Today I am taking you along on my journey from Mizoram to Tripura. After staying in Mizoram for 10 days and exploring it so much in detail, it was time for me to travel to my 6th state in NorthEast India - TRIPURA. Not that I do too much research before going anywhere because I like to take first-hand experience of everything but going to Tripura was different. There is very little to no information available on the internet about Tripura. So I started my journey in a shared cab from Mizoram and the journey which was supposed to be 4-5 hrs ended up being a journey of 12+ hours. I was stuck due to the vehicle breakdown, then bad road cause of the rain and the struggle just continued. Nonetheless I enjoyed every bit of this experience. Tripura is a state located in the northeastern region of India. It is bordered by Bangladesh to the north, south, and west, and by the Indian states of Assam to the east and Mizoram to the southeast. The state has a rich cultural heritage and is known for its diverse ethnic communities, languages, and traditions. The capital of Tripura is Agartala, which is also its largest city. The state has a mix of tribal and non-tribal populations, with major ethnic groups such as the Tripuris, Bengalis, and Manipuris. Economically, Tripura has predominantly been an agrarian state, with a focus on rice cultivation and horticulture. However, in recent years, efforts have been made to diversify the economy by promoting industries such as bamboo processing, handicrafts, and tourism. The state is also known for its natural beauty, with lush green landscapes, hills, and forests. It indeed holds its own charm with its diverse culture, ethnic communities, and beautiful landscapes.

I So fasten your seatbelt and let me take you to the third smallest state in India and probably the least explored one - TRIPURA.

Agartala is the capital city of the Indian state of Tripura, which is located in the northeastern part of the country. It is one of the major cities in the region and serves as the administrative, cultural, and economic centre of the state. Agartala has a rich historical background and was once the capital of the princely state of Tripura.

The city has witnessed a blend of cultural influences from various dynasties, including the Manikya dynasty and the Mughals. Agartala is known for its vibrant culture, which is a mix of indigenous Tripuri culture, Bengali culture, and other northeastern Indian influences. The city celebrates various festivals and cultural events throughout the year.

Agartala and its surrounding areas offer several tourist attractions. Some popular places to visit in and around the city include Ujjayanta Palace (Tripura State Museum), Neermahal Palace, Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary, and the Kamalasagar Lake.

Beating Retreat Ceremony at Akhaura Border (Indo-Bangladesh Border) - Inaugurated in 2013, the Agartala - Akhaura check post is the 2nd largest Indian trading centre with Bangladesh. It divides India and Bangladesh, along the border of Tripura. Lying about 6 km from the city of Agartala, the border boasts infrastructure that is similar to that of the famous Ataari-Wagah Border in Amritsar.

The place is a popular tourist spot as visitors come here to witness the ceremony in which the flags of the two countries are lowered by security personnel with a mutually coordinated performance. Created with the aim of easy facilitation of goods and passengers beyond borders, it also helps foster the Indo-Bangladesh relations.
